Ace of Cups, Joie de Vivre Tarot

Theme: "to express a cheerful enjoyment of life"

A little continuation on yesterday's "not reacting on behalf of painful emotions", aka "emotional awareness".
Again, it's not about "acting positive", ignoring feeling pain or pretending that everything is OK.
It's about knowing that everything is OK (accepting the is:ness of the present), and that all feelings are equally OK - whether they are comfortable or not. And knowing that Not Accepting is also OK!
But - to walk an extra mile to find the teachings of the moment.
Why is the pain triggered? What is it here to teach me?
What invaluable lesson is hidden in the murky waters, that is cause for gratitude and celebration?

I was (listening to Conscious Luck) reminded of a lovely expression for finding joy and gratitude in even the midst of the murkiest of feelings yesterday. "Radical Gratitude".

Immediately I decided to put some focus on this expression and it's teachings. So, the Joie de Vivre Tarot today is rather well "timed".
I guess it is this I always try to do/be, but sometimes it's good to be explicitly reminding, and "put a name" on it.

"It's easy to express gratitude for your blessings, but how do you practice gratitude for your challenges?"

"It's not about employing some sort of spiritual bypass that asks us to skip past the devastation of losing our loved ones and watching humans destroy each other. It's not about numbing the pain or using some mental construct to distract us from the pain the Story of Separation creates in our hearts.
It's about cultivating the ability to hold a paradox. We can both feel the deep pain of grief, loss, and tragedy, and we can be grateful for the ways in which such experiences crack us open, shatter the illusions of the ego, and wake us up to the truth of being."

"We can cry out with the horror of the heartbreak, and we can also feel gratitude for the opportunity to dive all the way into the fully enlivening human experience of heartbreak. Both can be true at the same time without skipping anything."

"But perhaps all this pain is just a growing pain, as we as a culture go through the birth canal of our collective awakening. Might we find a way to be grateful that we as individuals and as a collective are finally waking up?" (lissarankin)

"Radical gratitude emerges when you face challenges that grow your soul, the ones that push all your buttons, and help you see your growth edges. Your radical gratitude might not seem worthy of gratitude at first, but if you experience such things through the lens of your soul, you'll realize that your soul is high-fiving you, even as your Small Self might feel wounded or victimized."

"...when you can move beyond mere acceptance-releasing your resistance to what is and going even deeper-into gratitude, the miracles come at lightning speed. As A Course in Miracles teaches, every time we choose love over fear, a miracle happens." (lissa)

"Radical Gratitude is completely free from dogma or requirement for any belief other than in your own power to alter your experience. Anyone can benefit from utilising this approach to life."

"It is not that we should be grateful. Experiment in the spirit of play and with self-compassion. If we are playing with applying gratitude to all experience and notice resistance we simply feel gratitude for the resistance." (willpye)

To feel gratitude and feeling grateful is really the nicest feelings - and it's awesome that those feelings can be created purely by awareness - anytime, anywhere!

And isn't it the best time to set a new intention at the time of a New Moon?!
A Gemini one.

"The New Moon represents the start of new lunar cycle. It is a time to plant seeds, set intentions, and to think about what we wish to create."

"As the New Moon falls in Gemini, the sign of the twins, we may feel pulled in two directions. We may feel our heart wanting to go one way, and our mind wanting to go the other."

"With Venus Retrograde and Neptune's presence here, we may feel a little confused about which way to turn. This energy may enhance that feeling of being pulled in two directions or create a feeling of disconnect between our heart and mind."

"Retrograde Saturn is active on this New Moon too and provides some grounded energy. It supports us in setting goals and thinking about things in a more practical and methodical way.

"We have so much energy in the cosmos right now supporting us to dive in deep and to trust the process that is unfolding around us."

"Rather than getting lost indecision, we are asked to wait and trust that we will be guided to the right answers." (foreverconscious)

The Gemini New Moon may make us feel that we have been buried in the darkness, but that only means we are on a journey of finding our way to a new light.

This particular New Moon is in sharp opposition to my natal Sun, so I guess it's an extra important moon cycle for me.

"Of all the times that recur each month, this one brings a clearer picture of who you are as well as the truth you need to express. Taking charge where necessary heightens self-awareness. You can resolve certain issues now, and events that started two weeks ago may culminate. If discomfort exists, use it to better understand yourself and the way you feel towards others." (thefutureminders)

And that I feel the "two directions" theme a tad stronger.

"Decision-making can be challenging right now, as there is a basic conflict between your instincts and what you feel you should do. Inner imbalance between your body and your spirit can wreak a little havoc on your personal relationships. You may become aware of a conflict between the demands of your personal life and your professional life. It is harder to get support from others due to your own inner struggle. Try to avoid over-reacting, as it will get you nowhere fast. Use this dynamic energy to identify areas of your life that are not serving your greater purpose, and then work towards finding solutions." (cafeastrology)

Therefore it also feels rather fitting that the card of the day is an Ace - representing new beginnings. In the suit of Cups - emotions.

Card: Ace of Cups
"Living and breathing the spirit of love, Euphoria knows no end to the flow of beauty she draws forth and exudes. Her cup overflows with the waters of emotional fulfillment. A sprite hovering above the cup holds the key to the heart, and pink doves offer her love-berries.
Magnetize spiritual knowledge by becoming more open and receptive, and let your heart-light shine. A spiritual awakening will take place as the beginning of new desires and emotions emerge. Trust your inner voice; your caring nature will enhance psychic awareness. Listen to messages from within.
